The World of RSS
Today I began a quest to delve into the world of RSS (Real Simple Syndication). RSS is a way for us web-content-oholics to easily be continually updated of the latest content from our favorite sites. For instance, I have several blogs as well as business news sites that I keep my eye on throughout the day. By downloading a "newsfeed-reader" and subscribing to the RSS feeds that I am interested in, I am now able to be notified throughout the day - via headlines - of news stories that are posted on the various sites I visit.
What is a "newsfeed-reader?"
A newsfeed-reader is a lightweight software program that collects the RSS feeds that you specify and then organizes them in a headline format (I downloaded Feedreader and have been happy with its performance and ease of use thus far). This makes it easy for users to quickly scan the headlines for content that is of interest.
